Word on the street has it that Uluwatu in Bali is the place to go if you're a daredevil in search of grittier atmospheres wherever you go. Uluwatu, located in Bali, is a popular destination for surfers and other ocean lovers due to its reputation as a reliable surfing spot. A section of cliffs called Billionaire's Row is close by, remaining on the island's southern borders and barely around the peninsula.

Karma Kandara, perched atop Ungasan Hill with a sweeping vista of the Indian Ocean, is one of the five-star resorts that give this area its illustrious moniker. Recently, I was asked to spend two nights at Karma Kandara, where I could partake in the resort's offerings and document them with photographs.

Where is Karma Kandara?

It is easy to get to Karma Kandara from Bali's international airport, Ngurah Rai, as it is just around 11 kilometres away. Karma Kandara may be found on the Bukit Peninsula (the protruding bit at the island's base), south of the airport, and is characterized by an arid and rocky terrain.

The coastline here is mostly composed of cliffs like that of Karma Kandara. Have no fear since Karma Kandaras has its cliff-side cable car to make trips to the beach a breeze. And if you're feeling adventurous, the stairs are always an option. I couldn't wait to get to this part of Bali and start shooting because I'd only seen the west coast of the Bukit Peninsula.

The Karma Kandara Villas

At the Karma Kandara resort, you may enjoy a cosmopolitan beachside villa stay with your loved ones. The villas here are like mini-resorts in and of themselves, thanks to their pools, terraces with loungers, and other facilities. Not just a place to lay your head anymore.

Relax in a pod suspended from the ceiling, share a romantic dinner at a table for two on the beach, or chat with your pals at a round table. Raise a glass and cheers to a happy life!

The Amazing Setting At The Cliff Spa

The Karma Spa, perched on a clifftop, has won several awards and is a spectacular setting for luxurious spa treatments. Spa Bales are perched precariously on the edge of the cliffs, overlooking the Indian Ocean from every direction.
